First Lego League

What is FIRST LEGO League? FLL is a program that helps kids become excited about Science and Technology. It uses theme based challenges to engage kids in research, problem solving and engineering. FIRST LEGO League core values are:

• We do the work to find the solutions with guidance from our coaches and mentors.
• We honor the spirit of friendly sportsmanship.
• What we discover is more important than what we win.
• We share our experiences with others.
• We display Gracious Professionalism in everything we do.
• We have fun!

This year FLL's challenge is to get kids involved in climate research -- to discover a climate based problem in their area, gather data and locate a community in another part of the world that is experiencing similar issues.

Coaches' and Parents' Corner

As the Research Coach, I have seen huge changes in the kids this year as they've grown into the skills and demands required of a winning FLL team. I watched them at the competition on Saturday and their confidence in themselves, their confidence in their team mates, their team work, their excitement about sharing what they've learned about themselves, each other, robots, programming, climate, and global solutions is astounding.
