The Global Water Crisis
Did you know that our planet is in a Global Water Crisis? The World
Health Organization, Unicef, and the United Nations have identified
access to clean water as the single most important global crisis of the
21 century!
The Microbots heard this call to action! We agreed that this special call from the United Nations went hand in hand with our 2008 FLL topic on Climate Connections. Our FLL directive called on us to research, identify, create an innovative solution, and share a problem that our community and another (or in this case many others!) faces with climate change.
During our 2008 in-depth study of
climate, the one problem in NC that we kept coming back to was water.
The one problem worldwide that we could not ignore was the global water
crisis. Our vision is to raise awareness in our community-at-large via
the education on our Water4Tomorrow website. Our hope is to create many
new advocates for the global water crisis.
What Should You Do?
We
hope that our Water4Tomorrow website and the information on our many
pages will provide you with lots of exciting resources and education.
We want to create momentum to compel "everyone everywhere" to make
small changes in the way they think and act about water.

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE
We are the Microbots, a 3rd year FIRST LEGO League team from Cary, North Carolina, USA. The ages of our homeschooled team range from 11-13.
FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is an international competition where thousands of teams compete in their own state, province, etc. Then the team that won their state competition might get to go to the world’s competition.

The 2008 competition is called Climate Connections. We analyzed the effects of climate on our local and global community. Our research focuses on water availability and usage. We are using information derived from studying Cary, NC, USA and Brisbane, QLD, Australia, but applicable to the rest of the world.
We have documented our work in FLL in our blog. Check it out! http://fllmicrobots.org
